Hey guys, great to reconnect with Andrea and Erika to share some weekly favorites from my first week of winter school holidays. Thanks so much for stopping by!
OK, OK… the first week went by quickly. I certainly don’t like how quickly the school holidays fly by, but I am very grateful to be able to enjoy this break. It’s something I’m really looking forward to, and I’ve been making the most of this first week with fun walks, as well as lazy days.
Lunch Out
First up this week was a fun lunch with my lovely friend.
Ooooh, I can’t tell you how much I enjoy daytime activities during the school holidays, so this was the perfect way to start the term break.
The two of us ate crab ravioli at a small Italian restaurant in town. The inside is very comfortable, perfect on a cold and rainy day.
Sweet Treats
After lunch, we browsed some shops and had a sweet treat to end the day. My friend shared a delicious pistachio layered cake from Stitch Coffee at QVB with me.

Football
I think I spent most of Tuesday in front of the TV watching World Cup football. The match takes place at 10am Sydney time. It was great not having to get up as early as we did to watch the Socceroos game. Steve and I screamed with excitement every time Belgium scored. Woohoo! I was very happy to see them secure a place in the quarter-finals. Go to Belgium!!
Then we watched the replay of the Norway vs Brazil match. Oh my, what a game! I’m excited for the next match against England in the quarter-finals.
New App
Last weekend I discovered the Stylebook app. Since then I have added to my wardrobe and played around with different outfit ideas. It’s great to see all the possibilities with the clothes I already own. I’ll share more about this in another post because I had a lot of fun with it.

Sweden Arrives
I enjoy watching a lot of lifestyle videos about Swedish life on YouTube. Did you know that they have a daily tradition called fika, which involves enjoying coffee and sweet foods? According to my Ancestry DNA results, I am 1% Swedish (my husband always laughs whenever I remind him of this). Anyway, I embraced my little connection in Sweden and enjoyed this wonderful tradition during the winter school holidays! Haha.

Dinner Out
Thursday evening, Steve and I went to the Marrickville Tennis Club, where our Prime Minister played tennis. Steve told me this, and I think he got my attention, so I had to check the facts. Turns out he was right! How cute is that?
Anyway, we didn’t go to play tennis, no, we went to try the Portuguese food they serve there.

I had to take a photo of the stage because the decorations were so old. It reminds me of that movie Really Ballroom.

I had never tasted Portuguese food before, but it was delicious and very similar to how my mother cooked it. I felt like I was back in the 70s and 80s on Thursday nights. I’m excited to come back again soon.

Winter Sunshine
Drinking coffee in the morning and seeing the sun coming in through the window and brightening up the cold winter days is the best feeling. It’s a simple thing!

Yes, it was a really fun first week of school holidays. Looks like I’ll be spending a lot of this weekend watching World Cup soccer. We have stocked up on snacks and meat pies. Meat pies for breakfast due to early game times… that should be interesting!
Happy Friday 😊

PakarPBN
A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
