Ultimate Hammerwatch 2 Class Tier List

Hammerwatch 2’s Roguelike elements encourage players to use the best classes or creative builds with special jobs. While each class is influential in its respective role, some excel better in certain aspects that make them great overall, especially considering their specialization. If you’re looking for an intense class to start with in Hammerwatch 2, then here’s a list of the best class tiers for the game.

All Hammerwatch 2 classes

Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 has seven classes that can further specialize in certain areas. Your gameplay will depend on the important job you choose initially. Here are all the classes:

  • Wizards
  • Rangers
  • Soldier
  • Paladins
  • Fraudster
  • Sorcerer
  • Witch

Hamemrwatch 2 Class (w/ Specialization) Tier List

S tier

  • Radiance Paladin: Has powerful AOE attacks, especially with inner fire. Also more durable than most paladins and has great offense.
  • Blades Rogue: Blade Spread has one of the strongest single target and AOE attacks. While not long-lasting, they can quickly overwhelm opponents with their deadly combinations.

Level

  • Divine Paladin: Divine paladins use holy abilities that also provide buffs. Also one of the more defense-oriented specs, which makes it excellent in frontline combat.
  • Demolitions Rogue: Demolitions Rogue focuses on dealing HUGE AOE attacks from afar with various effects. Their preference for long-range combat and quick, agile movements makes them difficult to pin down to compensate for their lack of defense.
  • Evocation Wizard: Evo Wizards can cast powerful explosive abilities while slowing their enemies with crowd control spells. Their lack of mobility and defense makes them slippery, but their destructive abilities balance this out.
  • Berserker Warrior: Berserkers rely on extreme close quarter combat. They are deadly up close and become stronger the lower their HP.
  • Beastmaster Ranger: BM Rangers can summon wolf companions to aid them in battle, which corresponds to varying degrees of lethality. The only caveat with these specs is that you rely heavily on these summons, but they are powerful enough to take their place in the A-Tier.

B tier

  • Tyrant Warrior: Tyrant Warriors move lower on the tier list because it takes too long for their DPS to increase. They need to drop their enemies’ HP to a certain percentage for their damage to shine, but they have enough ability to CC and damage opponents to do so.
  • Judge Paladin: Judge Paladin has strong defensive abilities and decent points, but that’s about all they have going for them. Their main forms of damage are their shackles and divine hammers, but they don’t do as much DP as higher level classes.
  • Lightning Sorcerer: Lightning Sorc has a unique playstyle as its damage depends on how long the spell is charged. Although slippery, their skills can block enemy projectiles which makes up for long-range combat. However, their reliance on charged attacks makes them slower in fast-paced fights.
  • Chaos Warlock: Chaos Warlock has incredible DPS potential, but its main weakness is that it eats up too many resources. They have to constantly cast spells to summon Rift Spawns to increase their damage, which is very resource heavy.

C tier

  • Primalis Warrior: Primalis rely on their totems to enhance their attacks, but they barely do any damage themselves. You need to spawn a lot of them to show off their DPS, but their static movement makes them unreliable against fast-moving enemies.
  • Ice Sorcerer: ICE Sorcs do not have reliable DPS abilities as their increased damage bonuses are based on chance. Their ice shards can take incredible damage if they get bonus damage.
  • Marksman Ranger: Marksman can usually deal with great DPS, but their speed penalty makes them annoying to run. While you can invest in upgrades to reduce these debuffs, the fact that it takes a while for you to get the penalties ignored gives them a slow damage path.
  • Souls Warlock: A Soul Warlock’s attack increases depending on their essence stack. Upgrading it takes quite a long time, so its DPS is very unreliable.
  • Sorcerer Fire: Fire Sorcs suffer from the same problem as ICE Sorcs, so they have incredible DPS potential but are unreliable. Their abilities only have a chance to activate damage bonuses, so their damage depends on RNG.
  • Poison Rogue: Poison Rogue primarily relies on poison clouds to deal point-blank against enemies. This ability takes slow damage but provides a debuff against enemies. However, the damage increase is too slow to make it as competent as the others, especially against single targets.

D level

  • Warden Ranger: The Wardens kit revolves around crowd control. They have mediocre DPS but make up for it with their CC and debuff abilities. This is a safe class against many enemies, but clearing opponents takes too long.
  • Summon Warlock: Summoners have very low boost damage because they need to summon minions to increase their DPS potential. This summit requires a stack of essence, which will take time to generate.
  • Conjuration Wizard: Conjurers have unreliable DPS because their summons deal too low damage or target random enemies.
  • Transmutation Wizard: Transmutation Wizards specializes in buffs, and that’s all there is to it for them.
